The 21st of October is internationally known as Apple Day. This day has been celebrated since 1990 with all sorts of apple related events and contests like the UK Apple Balance Race. This year Belgian fruit & vegetables brand BelOrta organises its own unique activation. Since this year’s Apple Day is on a Monday, BelOrta decided to treat commuters to a delicious and healthy (!) start of their day: a Belgian apple!

With a Belorta apple Belgian commuters can start their morningrush with the perfect vitamin booster! Whether they’re going to work or school by train or are stuck in traffic, BelOrta will make sure that Belgian commuters have a surprisingly fun morning.

Trainstations

BelOrta will be present at the three most busy trainstations:

    • Antwerpen-Centraal
    • Gent Sint-Pieters
    • Ottignies

The Belgian Jonagold-apples will be given to commuters during the busy morningrush (6 a.m. ’til 9 a.m.) as well as on their way back home (4.30 p.m ’til 7.30 p.m.).

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but it can also help keep you awake. Apples are packed with vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, natural sugar, and phytonutrients that help you feel more alert. The sugar is slowly released in the body, keeping you alert without the coffee crash later on.

By car

For those commuting by car, BelOrta will be handing out their Belgian apples at 10 different locations spread over the country. Each town will receive the treats at one crossroad in the morning and the other in the evening, so everyone gets their chance to grab the delicious red snack. When stuck in traffic, be sure to hold out your hand at these crossroads:
