The brand is at the centre of several initiatives during the major international exhibition
This year the VOG Consortium will again be a star exhibitor with the Marlene® brand at the tenth edition of Fruit Attraction, to be held in Madrid from 23 to 25 October. As well as displaying the vast range of blue sticker apples at stand G05 in hall 10, the historic brand from South Tyrol – Südtirol will play a key role in a variety of activities.
First and foremost, Bio Marlene®, the VOG brand’s organic range, will be one of the sponsor brands of the Biofruit Congress, the exhibition’s first conference on the new challenges of the organic fruit and vegetable market, in hall 6 on 24 October (from 4 to 7 pm). Trade experts and leading distributors will analyse the latest data and trends on organic fruit and vegetables. Before and after the Congress, the Terlano Consortium will also give all participants the chance to taste the varieties in its organic range.
VOG has included organic apples in its offering for more than 20 years, and in 2013 it founded the Bio Marlene® brand for apples grown in accordance with the guidelines laid down by Regulation (EC) no. 834/2007. The organic growing methods adopted by Marlene® also comply with the strict standards of certified organic farmers’ associations such as Bioland, AIAB, KRAV, Bio Suisse and Orgânico Brasil, as well as BRC, IFS and GlobalGAP. Within the Consortium, the range is entirely grown by the 200 member producers on an area of 600 hectares and packed by Biosüdtirol, the cooperative founded in 2002 which operates exclusively in the organic apple sector. The 2018 harvest is estimated at over 29,000 tonnes, with Royal Gala, Braeburn, Evelina®, Pink Lady®, Golden Delicious, Fuji, Granny Smith and Topaz the main varieties.
The blue sticker brand will also be the centre of attention for all three days of the event thanks to the exclusive Marlene® truck, which will be parked in the central aisle of the exhibition centre. It will be constantly staffed by two hostesses, who will hand visitors an invitation to the VOG stand, where they will receive a delightful promotional gift.
